DTFR 170

Specification DTFR 170 is DAF Trucks' requirement for engine oils, intended for their high‑power diesel engines of medium and heavy categories, including turbocharged 6‑cylinder and 8‑cylinder blocks used in trucks and construction equipment. Oil that meets DTFR 170 must have a viscosity of SAE VG 10 – VG 30, high oxidation resistance, wear protection under high pressure and stability at temperatures up to 120 °C, providing long‑lasting operation under heavy load and increased fuel‑system efficiency. The specification provides compatibility with emission after‑treatment systems, namely DPF and SCR, without elevated SAPS content, allowing avoidance of rapid filter clogging and preserving catalyst effectiveness. DTFR 170 is the successor to earlier versions DTFR 13C and DTFR 15B, so lubricants approved to this standard can be used in engines that previously required those older specifications without compromising warranty requirements. When selecting a product on xenum.ua, use the “DTFR” filter to find oils that have DAF approval and meet these technical parameters.
