Specification DTFR 170 is DAF Trucks' requirement for engine oils, intended for their high‑power diesel engines of medium and heavy categories, including turbocharged 6‑cylinder and 8‑cylinder blocks used in trucks and construction equipment. Oil that meets DTFR 170 must have a viscosity of SAE VG 10 – VG 30, high oxidation resistance, wear protection under high pressure and stability at temperatures up to 120 °C, providing long‑lasting operation under heavy load and increased fuel‑system efficiency.
