DTFR 120

DTFR 120 is a technical specification developed by DAF Trucks for lubricants used in their medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines. The specification requires a minimum viscosity of SAE 15 W‑40, high oxidation stability, wear protection under increased loads, and compatibility with after‑treatment emission systems, including DPF and catalyst, without elevated SAPS content. It is targeted at turbocharged DAF 06‑12 L diesel engines, including models 064, 065, 066 and their SCR‑technology variants. Products that meet DTFR 120 provide long‑lasting operation at high temperatures, reduce fuel consumption, and prevent carbon deposit buildup in the emission system. If necessary, compatibility with newer specifications DTFR 13C130 or DTFR 15C110 can be considered, which have similar requirements, but this is not mandatory.
