DAF HP 1

Mark DAF HP 1 is a high‑performance engine oil specification developed by DAF Trucks for their heavy‑truck diesel engines. The requirement calls for a stable protective film at high temperatures and loads, retention of properties under high injection pressure operation, and provision of adequate lubricity under intensive cyclic loading conditions. Oils that meet DAF HP 1 are intended for DAF 6‑stroke diesel engine series, including models equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and catalyst that require low SAPS content. The specification provides long‑term oxidation stability, corrosion protection, and minimal valve deposits, which is important when operating in harsh climatic conditions. Although DAF HP 1 remains current, newer versions DAF HP 2 and DAF Xtreme LD offer extended service intervals, yet oils marked DAF HP 1 remain fully compatible with all engines certified to this requirement.
