Chrysler NS-2

Chrysler NS‑2 approval is an official transmission oil specification developed by Stellantis for automatic gearboxes of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram models. Technically, NS‑2 requires stable viscosity from –40 °C to +125 °C, high anti‑wear and anti‑oxidation properties and a specific friction coefficient that ensures smooth shifting, quick clutch engagement and protection of torque‑converter elements. The specification is suitable for 4‑, 5‑ and 6‑speed automatic transmissions installed in both passenger and commercial models with gasoline and diesel engines, including turbocharged variants. NS‑2 does not impose requirements for SAPS or DPF, therefore it is compatible with any exhaust after‑treatment systems used in these vehicles. Although newer transmissions often move to NS‑3, oils that meet NS‑2 remain backward compatible with all models for which this specification was approved.
