BMW Longlife-04

The BMW Longlife‑04 specification is BMW’s OEM approval for synthetic motor oils designed to meet low sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compound (SAPS) content requirements. It is intended primarily for BMW diesel engines equipped with selective catalytic reduction and a particulate filter (DPF), as well as for gasoline turbocharged units with direct injection, where a stable protective film at high temperatures and fuel economy are required. Oil that meets Longlife‑04 provides minimal soot deposition, preserves DPF efficiency and protects the catalytic converter, while simultaneously reducing wear and oxidation processes. For service centers this is a guarantee of compatibility with the 3, 5, X3, X5 series models, as also with the new BMW hybrid platforms that use the same oil requirements.
