BMW Longlife-01

Specification BMW Longlife‑01 is BMW’s OEM approval for synthetic engine oils designed to provide long‑lasting protection for gasoline engines across a wide range of models. It requires high heat resistance, viscosity stability at temperatures up to 150 °C, low oxidation levels and the ability to resist deposits on valves and pistons, which is typical for turbocharged and direct‑injection engines. Longlife‑01 is suitable for BMW gasoline powerplants of the 3‑, 5‑, 7‑series, X‑models and M‑versions, as well as for some older diesel engines without a DPF system, because this specification is not low‑SAPS. Oil that meets Longlife‑01 guarantees compatibility with oxidative catalytic converters, but is not intended for particulate filters (DPF) and does not require special SAPS additives.
