Specification BMW LA 2634 is a BMW OEM approval for automatic transmission fluids that sets requirements for viscosity, thermal stability, oxidation resistance, anti‑foaming, and compatibility with seals and friction elements of the gearbox. Fluid that meets LA 2634 provides stable torque transmission over a wide temperature range, protects against wear and corrosion, and also supports optimal operation of electronic transmission control systems. This standard is targeted at automatic gearboxes installed in gasoline and diesel BMW models with 6‑speed, 7‑speed and 8‑speed (ZF 8HP) transmissions, including the 3, 5, 7, X5 and X6 series.
