BMW DCTF-2

Specification BMW DCTF‑2 is an OEM approval that defines the requirements for transmission fluid for dual‑clutch (DCT) systems in BMW models, in particular 7‑speed gearboxes in the 3, 5, 7 series, X3, X5 and in the sporty M‑versions. This fluid must provide a stable friction coefficient across the entire speed range, withstand high temperatures up to 130 °C, retain viscosity under prolonged loads and prevent the formation of deposits on clutches and gears. Technical requirements include controlled clutch engagement speed, high resistance to oxidation, protection against corrosion of metal components and compatibility with the gearbox electronic control systems. The specification does not impose special requirements for SAPS, DPF or catalysts, as it concerns only the transmission system.
