API CK‑4 is the latest category of the American engine oil standard, designed exclusively for heavy-duty diesel engines with after‑treatment systems (DPF, SCR) and low sulfur, aromatic and phosphorus compound (SAPS) content. The specification requires increased wear protection, oxidation stability at high temperatures, and viscosity retention over long service intervals, allowing power and fuel efficiency to be maintained even in turbocharged, high‑torque engines.
