15W-40

15W‑40 is an oil that meets the SAE viscosity grade 15W‑40, where “15W” indicates the winter (cold) viscosity, and “40” indicates the operating viscosity at 100 °C. This oil provides easy engine start at low temperatures down to –20 °C and maintains a sufficient protective film during operation across a wide temperature range, including intensive load at 100 °C. 15W‑40 is chosen for medium and large‑displacement diesel and gasoline engines that operate in moderate and severe climate conditions, as well as for heavy loads, for example in trucks, off‑road vehicles and agricultural equipment. When the manufacturer specifies SAE 15W‑40, it means the oil meets the viscosity requirements, providing optimal lubricity, wear protection and oxidation stability throughout the service interval.
